SMS Consent: How Opt-In Is Collected

Basis Coverage Medi-Cal Renewal Text Alerts is a transactional program. Consent to receive the text message is collected verbally during a phone call with the Basis Coverage voice assistant, after the caller verifies their identity and before any text message is sent. The text is sent to the number the caller is calling from. There is no web form, and no marketing messages are sent.

Script the assistant reads

Before we finish, Basis Coverage can text a secure signing link for your Medi-Cal renewal form to the number you are calling from. This is a one-time service message for this renewal, and you would receive up to two messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, or reply STOP to opt out at any time. Our Terms of Service are at basiscoverage.com/terms and our Privacy Policy is at basiscoverage.com/privacy. Would you like to receive this text message, yes or no?

Caller response and confirmation

Caller:“Yes.”

Assistant:“Great, I’m sending that text to you now. Is there anything else I can help you with today?”

If the caller says no, no text message is sent.
